Ben Gibbard
Ben Gibbard
As the sultry, swooping voice of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service, Ben Gibbard has influenced scores of musicians and helped shape the sound of modern indie rock. Playing as a solo act, the music of these two bands still shines through as beautiful, poignant, clever, thought-provoking and a slew of other introspective adjectives.

There’s nary a music-loving soul who hasn’t heard of Gibbard or his bands. Those who haven’t run the risk of instant infection from the spell of his distinct, heart-melting vocal cords. It’s tough not to take anything he sings with all seriousness, even silly pop songs like “Complicated.”
It’s not just on guitar his fingers form chords, Gibbard also tickles the ivories. Powerful blocked chords sound fat and rich on piano, while right hand melodies twinkle and dance with his mesmerizing voice.
Keep an ear out for favorites on acoustic guitar, like “Such Great Heights,” “I Will Follow You Into the Dark,” and maybe, just maybe, he’ll bust out a tribute to the most popular pop star of all time and play “Thriller.”

With seven Death Cab albums, one Postal Service album and two All Time Quarterback! albums to draw material from, Gibbard might just go all night. Add in some witty banter and cover songs, for serious or for fun, and it could mean you’re staying for breakfast.

Zach Rogue (of Rogue Wave)
Zach Rogue (born Zach Schwartz) will don the guitar this solo performance of, most likely, Rogue Wave songs. If we’re lucky, he’ll also cast his hands upon the Wurlitzer. Oh, the Wurlitzer. A most romantic instrument, too classy to even be called an electric piano. Rising from Bay Area buzz band to national stardom, Rogue Wave’s music has been featured on many soundtracks and the band even appeared in a Jennifer Aniston movie (as themselves).
